Upper Eyelids (Upper Blepharoplasty)
Look more wide-eyed, energetic, and youthful by lifting and tightening saggy upper eyelids and removing excess skin and fat. Many people opt to have this surgery in their thirties and forties.
How Is It Done?
• Depending on your preference, you’ll receive either local or twilight anesthesia.
• A small piece of skin and the underlying fat are removed from the upper lid.
• The incision is then sutured in the natural crease line.
Recovery:
• You’ll feel a minimal burning sensation along the incision for 24-36 hours, which you can relieve by cool, moist compresses.
• There is one suture that is removed 5 days after surgery.
• Your eyes will be swollen and bruised for about 7-10 days. You may have a bit of swelling for about a month.
• You can wear make-up the next day, except for the eye area, where you should wait for 1 week.
• Resume normal activities and exercise in about a week.
• Scars are hidden in the eyelid crease.
• The lash line will feel numb or tingle for 3-6 weeks until full and normal sensation returns. This is most apparent when applying make-up.

Lower Eyelids (Lower Transcutaneous Blepharoplasty)
For larger, younger-looking eyes and a more-rested look, we can remove puffiness, wrinkles, and bags from under your eyes, as well as lift the muscle or reposition fat. Many people opt to have this surgery in their thirties and forties.
How Is It Done?
• We recommend twilight anesthetic.
• We’ll make an incision directly under the lower eyelashes or it can be hidden inside the lid. (See next listing for the procedure on “Inside Lower Lids.”)
• Using new, more advanced techniques, we will lift fat within the cheek, reposition orbital fat, and tighten lower lid muscles.
• We’ll close your incision with dissolvable sutures.
Recovery:
• Usually, you’ll feel a burning sensation along the incision for 24-36 hours, which can be relieved by cool, moist compresses.
• The sutures fall out between the 3rd and 7th day.
• You can wear make-up the next day, except for the eye area, where you can apply it in 1 week.
• Most swelling and bruising will be gone in 7-14 days.
• You can resume normal activities and exercising within a week.
• Because your scar is directly under the lash line, it usually is not detectable.

Inside Lower Lids (Lower Transjunctival Blepharoplasty)
You’ll look more attractive and refreshed when fat pads are removed from your inside lower lid. This procedure is often performed for people in their thirties and forties.
How Is It Done?
• We recommend twilight anesthetic.
• We’ll protect your eyes with shields and then make an incision in the conjunctiva (red portion inside the eyelid), from which we remove the fat pads.
• You’ll need no stitches.
• We can then use a laser on the outside of the skin to tighten and erase wrinkles.
• If we remove excess skin to further enhance the results, the incision will be under the lash line.
Recovery:
• You will feel mild discomfort for the first 24-36 hours.
• Within 5-7 days, bruising, swelling, and redness will diminish.
• Resume your normal activity and exercise after a week.
• Your doctor will tell you when you can wear eye make-up and contact lenses.
• If excess skin is removed, your scars are usually undetectable under the lash line.

Eyelid Pinch
Your eyes will have a firmer, more youthful appearance when extra skin is removed from the upper and lower eyelids.
How Is It Done?
• You’ll have a local anesthetic to numb the area.
• We remove excess skin from the eyelids.
• The incision is closed with dissolvable sutures.
Recovery:
• Most people have little or no pain. Cool, moist compresses alleviate burning or swelling.
• You may have some bruising or swelling for 3-5 days.
• Return to normal activities immediately with the help of sunglasses, and resume exercising in a week.
• There are usually no visible scars. The lower lid incision runs below the lash line; the upper lid scar is in the natural eyelid crease.
