Benefits:
Augmenting your chin, jaw line, or both can dramatically enhance the overall contour of your face. You can widen your chin, square it out, or curve its profile. This procedure can also correct asymmetries and congenital defects. During your initial consultation, computer imaging can show you how various techniques on the chin would improve your appearance.
How is it done?
• You’ll receive twilight anesthetic to relax you and prevent you from feeling pain.
• A ¾-inch incision is made in the skin crease beneath the chin. A small pocket is formed into which a synthetic implant is permanently secured.
• The incision is closed with dissolvable sutures, and flesh-colored tape is placed over it.
Recovery:
• Most of the discomfort, swelling, and bruising will be gone in a week.
• You can wear make-up the next day.
• Plan to resume your normal activities in about 1 week.
• You’ll see the final results in about 3 months.
• A tiny scar under the chin is usually hidden in the natural crease.
